Helicon is a Public Benefit Corporation, with the specific public benefit purpose to advance the field of EMDR therapy for mental health professionals and high-stakes occupational groups by developing innovative training and certification programs, expanding access to specialized clinical resources, and facilitating a vetted therapist network that improves collaboration and care delivery.

EMDR therapy is the go-to option for resolving a wide array of mental health issues, enhancing performance, and innovating treatment approaches.
We want Helicon to be the gold standard for support and access for all EMDR therapists and the professionals they serve.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an advanced psychotherapy technique that draws from an ancient understanding of healing. By using bilateral stimulation to engage the nervous system, EMDR activates neural networks while expanding the window of tolerance, allowing for the efficient reprocessing of traumatic memories, removal of emotional and psychological blockages, and optimization of mental performance.
We support EMDR therapists with advanced consultation, community connection, and help market them to high-stakes professionals who can greatly benefit from EMDR services. Helicon aims to become the go-to platform for EMDR access among high-stakes professions, connecting them with our growing ecosystem of EMDR providers.
We are currently piloting systems to support EMDR therapist connection, and marketing a directory to select first responder agencies in WA state to connect their employees with our vetted providers.
While we learn from these pilots, we’re also building tech to streamline therapist support, consultation toward certification, and enhanced directory features.
Founder and CEO, Chris’ journey to becoming a licensed clinician and certified EMDR therapist/consultant began with three combat deployments in the USMC infantry to Iraq and Afghanistan (2004-2008), where he was awarded a Purple Heart. During his transition out of the Marines, he experienced the profound benefits of EMDR therapy firsthand and decided to dedicate his career to helping others access the same support. He founded a recognized non-profit for innovative peer-support training and spent seven years as a full-time therapist at a specialized PTSD clinic with a government agency, where he honed his expertise in EMDR.
Through his private practice and interactions with regional leadership, he recognized the challenges first responders face in finding high-quality mental healthcare. This inspired him to build a network of culturally competent EMDR providers committed to supporting the first responder community - and got him thinking about what this could mean at scale for the EMDR industry and society at large.
He’s ready for the challenge ahead and excited to turn this pilot into a gold standard support system for all EMDR therapists and the professionals they serve.
Co-founder and COO, John has training and experience in both Psychology and Law. Having supported several behavioral health startups, he has the experience and know-how to build and support the teams that make Helicon successful. John joined Helicon in pursuit of a more ethical and innovative approach to offering behavioral health services than what currently exists in a lot of corporate behavioral health startups. He is excited to spend more time and resources supporting the providers offering life-saving services, and the agencies who employ people who need these services the most.
John is helping build our business model into a win-win for all parties involved, and exploring ways to support therapist business development.
Clinician, professor, and founder of SOF Network, Christopher has developed niche best practices for vetted therapist directories, specifically for the special operations community.

Ar Helicon we honor the unique roles, contributions, and sacrifices made by first responders, therapists, and our clients. This means recognizing the dignity and commitment each person brings to their work, whether it's serving on the front lines or supporting others on their journey toward healing. We believe in respecting the human experience and ensuring that everyone’s efforts are appreciated and valued.
To innovate, we must collaborate.
At Helicon, collaboration means building a strong, supportive community of EMDR therapists committed to clinical excellence and sustainable practice.
We innovate by challenging outdated systems and offering therapists new tools to grow - through consultation, advanced EMDR training, and ethical marketing support.
Our focus is simple: empower the people doing the work so they can deliver care that’s impactful, ethical, and built to last.
At Helicon, integrity means doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest path. We hold ourselves to high ethical standards in how we support therapists, share knowledge, and build tools for growth. This is reflected in our public benefit corporation model.
Our commitment to clinical excellence and ethical practice is reflected in everything we offer, from consultation to marketing guidance. We prioritize transparency, respect, and responsibility so EMDR therapists can grow with confidence and serve their clients with clarity.
At Helicon, leadership means having the courage to challenge broken systems, and the compassion to support those working within them.
We lead by example: advocating for therapist-centered models, speaking out against harmful industry norms, and creating spaces where clinicians feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Our vision is rooted in care, but we’re not afraid to push boundaries. Because changing the future of mental health takes both heart and backbone.
At Helicon, we believe therapists do their best work when they have the freedom to think critically, practice ethically, and grow on their own terms.
We support autonomy by providing tools, not rules. Whether through consultation, training, or visibility support, we trust therapists to lead their own practices while holding themselves to the highest clinical and ethical standards.
With freedom comes responsibility, and we’re here to back therapists who take both seriously.
Growth at Helicon isn’t a checkbox, it’s a mindset.
We support EMDR therapists who are committed to refining their skills, expanding their knowledge, and evolving their practice. Through advanced consultation, training opportunities, and shared learning, we create space for meaningful, ongoing development.
Because the future of mental health depends on therapists who never stop learning, and systems that grow with them.
